Waters and Airs: The Beautiful Voice
An Evening of Song with Jay St. Flono
Join us for the inaugural concert of the Patricia Ellen Singing Artist Residency, curated and performed by sopranista Jay St. Flono.
Waters and Airs: The Beautiful Voice is an intimate, autobiographical musical journey tracing the evolution of an artist. Through a carefully curated selection of works, the program explores the full spectrum of human emotion—sorrow, spite, serenity, jubilation, and fear—transforming each into a powerful expression of connection and meaning.
Structured in sections inspired by pivotal moments in the artist’s growth, this performance serves as a return to the original source of joy: a deep love of music. The evening will conclude with a short, intimate talkback with the audience.

About the Residency
The Patricia Ellen Singing Artist Residency supports classically trained and multi-genre singers (ages 25–65+) who are emerging artists without major management or contracts. The program encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and innovative performance approaches beyond the traditional classical music space.
The residency is named in honor of Patricia Ellen Moore-Turner, a Brooklyn-born classical singer and actress, and a celebrated member of the National Association of Negro Musicians. Her legacy of artistry and community impact continues to inspire the next generation of performers.
